A great day was had by all at Netheravon at the ‘Jump for PLANETS’ event on Saturday 21st September.

All jumpers arrived bright and early to find that weather was likely to delay their skydive, not a great scenario for those that were feeling anxious already.  Training was completed and the first group of jumpers were suited up while everyone else relaxed and drank numerous cups of tea!  As the hours ticked by with no sign of an improvement in the weather there was plenty of time for PLANETS supporters to get to know each other, share stories and make new friends.  By the afternoon a few decided to call it a day and as the group dwindled it did seem unlikely that anyone would get to jump!  However, at 6pm, a small patch of blue sky appeared and a decision was made to take the first plane up, followed swiftly by a second containing an apprehensive Dr Brian Stedman!!  Both groups came in to land with huge smiles on their faces and although disappointing that not everyone got to do their jump, the day ended on a massive high!  Well done to those who jumped and those who are still to jump for taking yourself out your comfort zone and for raising what looks like is going to be a fantastic amount for PLANETS!!  A huge thank you to Tori Caine who organised this fun event in honour of her lovely Mum, Linda Caine, who was successfully treated by Mr Neil Pearce for pancreatic cancer.
