Dr Nigel Hacking provides all aspects of General Radiology including ultrasound and barium studies. In his areas of special interest in the abdomen Dr Hacking performs CT and MR to include MR Cholangio-Pancreatography and MR angiography.
Since the opening of a fully functional Interventional Radiology suite at Spire Southampton Hospital complex Embolization procedures, especially for liver and kidney tumours, fibroids and bony and GI metastases can now be performed. IVC filters, varicoceal embolization and a full range of urological and biliary interventions are now offered.
Dr Hacking trained at the Middlesex Hospital and then gained MRCP following a Senior House Officer medical rotation at St Marys Hospital, London, He further trained in Radiology at Southampton and was appointed consultant in 1991.

Dr Nigel Hacking is married to a nurse who is also qualified as a Psychodynamic Counsellor with a special interest and qualifications in Eating Disorders. They have three children and live in the New Forest, enjoying the surrounding natural history, tennis and gardening.
