Kathryn Nash
Consultant in Hepatology
Dr Nash qualified from Cambridge University with a first class honours BA in pharmacology and distinctions in clinical medicine and surgery. She undertook hepatology training in London, Edinburgh and Cambridge gaining extensive experience in managing all areas of liver disease including cancer and liver transplantation. She undertook research in hepatology at Cambridge University and was awarded a PhD.
Dr Nash was appointed consultant in Hepatology at Southampton in 2008. As well as running the liver transplant service and undertaking the full range of hepatology services, she chaired the HPB MDT for 5 years and has been the clinical lead for hepatocellular carcinoma for 10 years.
She has a keen interest in training and education and has had a number of senior leadership roles in this field including the Guardian of Safe Working at University Hospital Southampton, the Training programme director for Wessex Gastroenterology and the Vice chair of the National Speciality Advisory Committee for Gastroenterology
