Jonathan Fennall
Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care
Training and Education
My basic medical training was at Southampton University. Prior to this I had completed an honours degree in Biochemistry with Chemistry.
Experience
I achieved dual medical and anaesthetic training by the mid nineties and became a consultant at Kingston NHS Trust in 1999. My appointment covered both intensive care and major abdominal surgery.
I moved back to Southampton six years ago to take up another consultant post in Intensive Care and anaesthetics. Since then I have become a senior anaesthetist in Hepato-bilary Surgery, lead consultant in Intensive Care and become increasingly involved with the medical school and development of the Acute Care Training Module.
In conjunction with Mr Neil Pearce I was closely involved with the development of major laparoscopic liver surgery and pancreatic surgery at the Spire Hospital.
